3.4.3 Performance - Type II actuator assembly.
3.4.3.1 Internal leakage. Leakage shall not exceed the rates specified in table III (see 4.6.7 and
4.6.8).

3.4.4 Environmental. Actuator assemblies shall be capable of operating in ambient temperatures
of -50 °F to 120 °F (-46 °C to 49 °C) and with oil temperatures of -50 °F to 250 °F (-46 °C to
121 °C), without affecting their ability to meet the other requirements of 3.4. When prepared for
storage, the actuator shall withstand temperature extremes of 160 °F to -50 °F without
deterioration of components that prevent proper functioning of the unit (see 4.6.23).
3.5 Identification and marking. Unless otherwise specified on the applicable drawing, each
actuator assembly and each major component shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-130.
3.6 Nameplate. Unless otherwise specified on the applicable drawing, nameplate, data and
instruction plates shall conform to the applicable provisions of MIL-P-514.
3.7 Finish. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), actuator assemblies shall be cleaned, treated,
primed and painted in accordance with the drawing.
3.8 Workmanship. Workmanship shall be of a quality to assure that actuator assemblies and
components are free from defects of a workmanship nature.
4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order,
the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection and test requirements as
specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor
may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection and test
requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves
